Susan tells us that through the window of your eyes you can view the ever changing landscape of your beautiful miraculous world. You can delight in beholding the glorious manifest creation around you—both the natural world and man-made objects. You perceive this magnificent world with your 5 senses…seeing, hearing tasting smelling and feeling. But there is a sixth sense. With this sixth sense—a higher sense perception, you can open the gateway to subtler realms of existence. You can develop your inner eye and view an invisible world consisting of multiple dimensions, alternate realities subtle planes, spiritual worlds filled with light and parallel universes of indescribable wonders. This eye of wisdom knowledge illumination and intuition is aptly called “The Third Eye.”
The mechanism of sight according to science is a marriage between the object of perception, your two eyes and your brain. It is believed the mechanism of inner sight (insight or intuition) uses an inner third eye seated in the pineal gland. This gland is somewhat of a mystery to modern Western allopathic medicine but is well known to Ayurvedic medicine of India, to Chinese medicine and to the ancient cultures of Egypt Sumeria Assyria, Babylonia, Greece Rome Mesoamerica and others.
In India this third eye is known as the ajna chakra, a subtle energy plexus in the middle of your brain seated in the pineal gland. It is the portal of higher vision where you can see what is not evident by using your eyes. This chakra is not in your physical body. If you were to dissect a cadaver, you would not find it anywhere. It is located in your subtle energy body.
Although the third eye is one of your chakras (ajna chakra) and therefore located in your subtle energy body it is also associated with your physical body. Its home is your pineal gland located at the center of your brain. Interestingly the word “epiphany” derived from the Greek and Latin is not a coincidence. The ancient Greeks believed the faculty of inspiration to be seated in the pineal gland. The Hebrew word penile translates to the face of God.
Since shamans of the Amazon claim that DMT, a substance that can evoke an altered state of consciousness and a loss of connection to the physical world and at the same time an immersion in experiences and communication with spiritual realms and otherworldly beings or strange environments likened to alien or parallel universes DMT awakens understanding of the self and communication with a higher power and scientists have sought to discover its connection with the pineal gland which has been associated with the third eye (a chakra) and higher states of consciousness.
The pineal looks like a tiny pinecone beehive or corn stalk and the symbol of the pinecone representing the highest spiritual illumination appears widely throughout the ancient Indonesia Babylonia Sumeria Egypt Greece and Rome. The beehive is a common Masonic symbol and the cornstalk was widely portrayed by indigenous tribes of the Americas.
Therefore it seems that those symbols reflect important connections to earth and Universal life and an honoring of both our physical and spiritual lives and should be recognized by religious groups as well.
The largest religious monument in the world Angkor Wat is found in Cambodia. It’s colossal domes are pine-cone shaped Pinecones or beehives adorn the head of Buddha in statues throughout Asia and the world’s largest pinecone statue is found in the Vatican’s Court of the Pine Cone flanked by 2 peacocks representing resurrection and immortality or the circle of endless life, soul and physical Reincarnation….
The pine cone also appears on the staff of the Pope.
The ancient Greeks believed the Pineal gland to be the entrance to the realms of thought and Plato and Hippocrates believed the third eye to be the eye of wisdom. Plato viewed the chakras as subtle organs through which man has sought to understand both our spiritual and physical life and it is through knowledge of the chakras how they connect to Universal Energy that we could understand our spiritual and physical needs. Throughout all time history and religions there has been an awareness of the energetic and physical body of each person…..they just have never been able to integrate the knowledge fully for maximum benefit for understanding who we are as spiritual beings having a physical life and how our bodies thoughts actions and energy body must work together not separately.
The laying of tefillin in Orthodox Judaism might be a reminder of the third eye…Deuteronomy 6:8 states “And thou shall bind them the sacred words of the holiest prayer of Judaism—the Shema for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as totafot between the eyes and Deuteronomy 11:18 says “Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul and bind them for a sign upon your hand that they may be as totafot between your eyes
The totafot refers to cubed shaped leather boxes which contain 4 important passages from scripture and come from the Aramaic meaning to see. They are worn at the third eye and are a reminder of the true law of God and might that also show we see the truth though our third eye or inner vision or true spiritual energetic connection to Spirit.
Buildings of certain cultures of antiquity including Mexico, Indonesia and Egypt show a characteristic three door pattern in facades of buildings of secret societies such as Shriner’s Knights of Pythias, Freemasons and Skull and Bones. This pattern is a triptych since it appears as a trinity and there appears to be a third eye pattern over the middle door and may be equated with the three major energy conduits running through the midline of the human subtle energy body…ida nadi on the left…pingala nadi on the right and sushumna nadi in the middle…
According to the wisdom of ancient India each sound or vibration in the Universe is a precursor of a corresponding form…and the fundamental seed sound that underlies and gives rise to the entire cosmos is said to be OM the hum of creation. The seven main chakras are vibrational plexuses, like lotus flowers with a seed sound at the core of each lotus and on the lotus petals. The vibrations of the entire Sanskrit alphabet are the seed sounds of the lotus petals of the first 6 chakras and all the 50 sounds or letters of the alphabet radiate on the seventh chakra. .” The third eye is the only chakra with the vibratory sound OM in its nucleus.
There are seven major chakras which have specific functions affecting both your subtle energy body and physical body.
Each chakra indicates specific subtle frequency levels and progressively higher states of consciousness from basic survival instincts associated with the root chakra to intuitive powers in ajna the third eye area and finally spiritual enlightenment in the crown chakra…Thus the 3 lower chakras root sacral and solar plexis are concerned with material life and bodily survival. The upper chakras heart throat, third eye and crown deal with spiritual life and higher creative expression. The key that unlocks this entire system is the heart chakra… It is the gateway to higher consciousness. The chakras embody your spiritual path. These 7 gates to higher consciousness opens your consciousness from limited awareness to expressing your full potential.
Trepanation which means “to bore” or drill a hole in the skull for medical or non-medical reasons may have been a tribal ritual or superstition or perhaps an advanced surgery performed by ancient Peruvians…In 1956 author Cyril Hoskin wrote a book called The Third Eye describing this procedure on a young Tibetan monk called Rampa. On Rampa’s eight birthday he underwent this procedure during which he felt a blinding flash and intense pain like a white flame and saw spirals of color and incandescent smoke ..the metal instrument was removed but the small sliver of wood remained in place for weeks and the child was kept in a small room in near-darkness This operation supposedly opened Rampa’s clairvoyant sight and then the boy saw auras and his mentor said…Now you are one of us and for the rest of your life you will see people as they are and not as they pretend to be…. Trepanning is still used today to treat traumatic brain injuries as this may increase brain flow and expand brain size.
The benefits of opening the third eye are:
Greater confidence as you discover your true purpose
Greater wisdom as you tap into the source of all wisdom

The ability to make decisions effortlessly with commitment certainty and assurance
Clarity of mind in all endeavors

Greater inner peace fulfillment contentment and joy
The ability to see through illusions to perceive reality and truth
Spiritual gifts of subtle sensory perception prophecy and direct voice
Robust physical health, well being longevity and youthfulness
In addition to all these benefits there is an even greater return from opening the third eye. Dr. Shumsky wrote….. “Throughout the ancient and modern world this third eye seated in the pineal gland has been named divine eye, all seeing eye, mind’s eye, eye of the soul, inner eye, eye of illumination, eye of wisdom, Eye of Horus, third eye, eye of providence, eye of God, sixth chakra, ajna chakra, and brown chakra…there are untold benefits to opening your third eye. This eye of wisdom and intuition is literally your inner teacher and by awakening and developing your third eye you are opening lines of communication between your ego self and your higher self. What can this inner teacher do for you? In one word… miracles. When you open the eye of inner wisdom you begin a flow of divine guidance….and when you allow it, trust it and follow this inner guidance you receive miracles will begin to happen everywhere in every part of your life.”
Your physical form is just one of your bodies. You are a multidimensional being with both a gross physical body and a subtle body which in the West we call an aura or energy field. We must also acknowledge that prana, chi as it is called in China, and ki in Japan, is the life force energy… the power within all things and all beings, and is in the air though it is not a physical constituent of air…Without prana you could not move breathe or live. Prana in the body is life and when it leaves the body it results in death.
Many people these days are becoming aware of their sensitive and supersensory abilities.Supersensory perception is receiving clear intuition or the ability to listen to the still small voice of inner wisdom and develop innate spiritual gifts. Anyone can open and develop the inner eye of wisdom..the third eye and have direct spiritual experiences and two way conversation with your inner divine guidance .
HOW TO BEGIN:
To develop this ability begin by sitting quietly deeply breathing and going into a state of peace relaxation and deep meditation. Then simply ASK Ask to open your third eye or to meet a spiritual guide of for inner guidance healing love light or inspiration…ask a question.
Messages may appear in 3 ways. 1. Inner vision, Clairvoyance, Inner voice . 2. Clairaudience, Inner feeling 3. Clairsentience. There are also other ways…Synchronicity or coincidence, a flash of insight, revelations in dreams, warning signals, telepathic communication divine messengers in physical form and divination or devices.
Yoga, which is not merely an exercise program but is an ancient healing art and the means to unity and integration …the union of the individual soul with Supreme soul… Yoga is a complete science of mind body and Spirit. Its holistic approach can help anyone become happier, more in tune with natural life free from habits that cause disease. It heals your body clarifies your mind and strengthens your spirit. It promotes mental concentration and promotes inner peace.
The asanas which mean “postures” are traditional postures that bring greater energy to your body, mind and spirit. The asanas are specifically designed to help you open your ajna chakra (third)eye.
Susan tells us what mirror gazing is. At night with all the lights out sit in a chair about 3 feet in front of a mirror. Close your eyes and take some deep breaths while you pay attention on each part of your body separately and progressively from the soles of your feet to the top of your head. Then open your eyes and stare at your forehead with steady gaze..relax the eyes and look beyond your image…other faces may superimpose over it…you might see fog like images moving around your body. You might see lights or an aura. Practice this exercise for 5 to 10 minutes…It can help you develop clairvoyant sight.
Sheryl and Susan have examined in depth the third eye discovering the importance of awakening this energy vortex to develop super-sensory perception by various traditional and non-traditional methods both ancient and modern. The goal is to use all knowledge and awareness to ultimately refine our thinking and our behaviors so we may access all parts of our spiritual and physical realities to surf the world of eternal life and create what is most advantageous to our own development in this lifetime and to assure that the human condition and our world benefit from the wisdom of the past brought into our present world experience.
As Susan wrote “Here is the big secret, now revealed…Once you have attained a state of pure serenity by sitting quietly and taking deep breaths and being in deep meditation it is time to do something that people generally never do while in a deep state of meditation “ASK” Ask Spirit to help you open your third eye. Or ask for a spiritual experience. Ask for a divine being, deity, or being of light to appear. Call upon that being by name. Ask for inner guidance. Or ask for healing, for love, for light, for inspiration. Ask a question….Stay in a neutral state of awareness without expectation strain or concentration Be open to receive but without seeking any outcome. Place no effort or exertion into your awareness. Just do nothing..”
Susan and Sheryl would like our listeners to know this connection to your spiritual source and inner energy will open up doorways to Universal wisdom and enhance and improve all aspects of your physical and spiritual needs…First, remember we are all spiritual beings having a physical life and when we awaken from the ego or mind-based approach living merely in the physical realm…. we will realize our true divine nature..and identify more fully with our divine self…You will come to know, I AM that oneness, I AM that wholeness, I am that God-being…. That is who I am. Trust yourself: love yourself and others, and become the divine spark of creation that connects us to all that is.
