As host of Healing From Within Sheryl Glick author of Life Is No Coincidence and The Living Spirit which shares tales of healing, infinite love, spiritual communication and awakenings, miracles and a guide to your soul awareness is delighted to welcome Julia Bowlin a physician and author of To Me I Thee Wed who has implemented a blend of conscious awareness and conventional medicine to help people deal with depression and addiction and achieve health and wellness.

Sheryl shares with Julia that listeners of “Healing From Within” know that her wonderful guests share intimate stories as we seek to understand both energetic and human qualities which when clearly understood help us reach our full potential to create happiness and joy. Many have found that the duality and needs of our ego -related awareness and inner soul aspects often separate us from knowing who we are and how to relate to others without fear and limitations and beliefs not our own which were imposed on us during childhood. This show aims to encourage self-investigation and self-mastery of emotions as the way to find the more positive aspects of life. Julia Bowlin shares an intimate and professional understanding of how personal social and cultural influences impact one’s inner self and as a result one’s overall health and wellness and how to love honor and cherish YOURSELF forever after, and offers an RX for a healthier wealthier and wiser you.

Julia tells us how the inspiring idea to write about self- love began…and she wrote, “Some people say there are no mistakes. So I’ll call it a stroke of unintended insight that overtook my nephew during his wedding vows. He and his bride dutifully recited their lines exactly as the priest said them—with one exception: When it came time for Matthew to say “I marry thee,” what came out instead was,“ I marry me.” If he could go back in time, I’m sure he would have said it correctly—but I’m glad he didn’t! I loved his version! Aside from providing a moment of levity (and mild embarrassment), I thought it was the perfect message—for me, for him, and perhaps for the entire world. The more I reflected on this little slip, the more I realized how inspiring it was. It got me thinking: What if we could all make loving vows—not just to our spouses, but also to ourselves? What if we all committed to giving ourselves the life- long task of being good to ourselves?

How can making a commitment to marry yourself and honor your own truest needs begin to help people who struggle with wellness issues like emotional chaos depression self-neglect obesity high blood pressure diabetes or just felling lost and not following through in activities and goals they so desperately want to achieve? Julia answered that by writing , “ No matter your education level, financial status, marital status, or sexual preference, we are all human beings with core needs. Although these needs are basic, they often elude us during the insanity we call daily life. Needs such as a nurturing understanding of who we are and what we need from ourselves and from others. Needs such as a loving touch, eye contact, or a warm smile. Needs such as a supportive word when we feel the most vulnerable. And the need for self-‐love and self-‐care. Until we can identify these needs and acknowledge how they are being met(or not), we won’t feel fulfilled intellectually, physically, and spiritually.

Sheryl responds by saying we are unique beings both human and divine and must address our emotional spiritual and physical needs and objectives equally. Many people and children are so busy pleasing others and following the expectations of others that they bury, deny or deflect their own self interests, and at a cellular level these disappointments are retained. Eventually the physical body as a result of undermining thoughts and actions develop discomfort from within the soul as the soul has a pretty good idea of why one chose a physical life in the first place. If that individual is not on the right path to complete a soul objective, the body responds with either pain, illness, or dysfunction. Learning what is within you is a true reflection of your goals and needs rather than outside influences is the way for success in achieving peace joy happiness and a successful purposeful life. Other people or material gains will not and cannot bring you happiness. “Healing From Within” the name of this show is the answer to what we all long for…a knowingness of our soul and alignment to all energy life and the unity and Oneness of being.

Julia finds a big challenge to her patients is simply not enough self-love and she wrote, “ Most of my patients and clients have a pretty good idea WHY and HOW to get healthy, but they don’t know WHY they don’t do what they need to do to feel vivacious, think clearly with a peaceful mind and behave in a way that supports their mind, body and spirit. Recognizing your own worth ...confidence and self-esteem pride in your own thoughts….That’s how self-‐love starts: by recognizing or feeling the potential within yourself. It doesn’t mean you’re conceited—it means you acknowledge your own inherent worth. You get a sense that you’re someone worth spending time with, someone special, someone with a spark. Have you ever felt a spark potential within yourself? Have you ever had a moment when you thought, “Yes, I can do this, ”or even, I don’t know if I can do this, but I’m going to give it a try”? Being open to Self-‐Love is the way to discover your own passions and move towards self-investigation of self and others . You can’t really love someone else until you love yourself in all of your human and divine aspects.

Sheryl goes on to describe her take on this path to happiness. In her book The Living Spirit Sheryl addresses the reason many people feel unable to achieve happiness and peace. Sheryl wrote, “Since I receive intuitive messages for my clients many people have asked me, How can I find peace and happiness in my life?” This is the answer I give them: Before there can be peace and happiness in a person’s life and in the world, every person must be responsible to do their own work acknowledging what needs to change within their attitudes or actions, so that they may better relate to the outer world. Finding true happiness and joy is the natural outcome of self-investigation. There are no short cuts. No one can make you happy or unhappy unless you give him or her the power to do that by surrendering or giving your own power away. Most people want to be loved and accepted by a group regardless of the cost to their own individual character. Therefore they tell themselves many stories in order to be accepted by others.”. Spiritual transformation is the key to manifesting a better physical experience. It is also necessary to attain life achievements that are not only materially advantageous but are a real reflection of your true Divine Self. Often when influenced by societal training and pressures we often lose a bit of our own soul wisdom and our divine life plan or goals.

Julia tells us what PAWAR means. It is Power spelled PAWAR or Personal Awareness and Responsibility. It is a process of steps and exercises that give the person the tools to dive into their inner landscape of core values, true rules permission slips and emotional anchors

Julia goes on to tell us how she knows what it feels like to be divorced from myself and how she discovered her life plan was to learn to help herself and others. Julia tells us,” I have a strong history as a self abuser, bulimic and multiple suicide attempts before the age of 18…I knew at the age of 18 that this was my purpose( after a spiritual intervention) in life to assist others out of the terrain of such pain…22+ years of practicing medicine and over 100,000 patient visits lead me to know most people DON’T need an Rx for a medicine but they need an Rx for Personal Awareness and Responsibility. It’s time to bring people BACK to themselves in a state of love, awareness and responsibility.

Many people buy into the fantasies and misconceptions about our societies values and truths. Julia wrote….”It’s not just celebrities who are susceptible to this fantasy trap. Roughly half of all marriages in the U.S. end in divorce. Although many reasons are provided (financial problems, infidelity, irreconcilable differences, or just a good old-‐fashioned rut), it seems safe to say that the underlying cause for most break-‐ups is the same: He/she/life didn’t turn out to be the way I thought/hoped they would be.”

Sheryl says…Life can be such an awesome adventure if we can separate ourselves from the illusions of our ego driven reality and embrace the wisdom and truth of our energetic or soul essence knowing life is not random, we are never alone, and if we align to this inner connection we can begin to honor our destiny or life plan, and disengage from many of the materialistic fantasies that hold us, that bind us and chain us to fear and negativity…Winston Churchill said. “There is nothing to fear but fear itself.” So many of our wildest fears never materialize and we waste our energy in waiting for tragedy. So many of our dreams don’t materialize either because we are stuck in the untruths heaped on us early in life and need to free ourselves of those programs running in our minds.

Julia came up with her trademarked program PAWAR pronounced POWER because with so many changes in the practice of modern medicine such as computers, meaningful use regulations, and documentation requirements the time constraints upon doctors are just simply inhibiting us from diving deep into the REAL issues behind most people’s mind, body and spiritual illness. I needed a way to reach people guide people assist people into a state of peace happiness and health from their unhealthy mindsets, core value crisis and harmful emotional anchors.

Julia became aware after spiritual interventions at age 18 at OSU In college and in medical school about a sense of separation forced on us by our physical life which often keeps us from being fully connected to our spiritual source. These faith based interventions do guide us when we are ready and willing to listen. Sheryl says We are all receiving guidance from a Unified Field of Energy and Information as Quantum Physics shows us…and the happiest and most successful people often have brought their physical knowledge and intuitive wisdom together not allowing the duality but embracing the unity and oneness of life…We are all interconnected sharing energy thoughts feelings and never really alone though the mind and ego would have us accept that reality as truth when in fact much of what we think is not our thoughts at all

Julia mentions the term Sagacious Selfishness and goes on to explain what it means and the importance of knowing how important it is to incorporate this awareness into our life. The wisest sages know that self‐actualization is not about self‐denial—it’s about becoming and expressing your fullest, most glorious self. And that’ what “sagacious selfishness” means. It’s healthy selfishness, a way of thinking and acting that shows a deep appreciation and concern for yourself. Being “sagaciously selfish” means that you respect your own feelings, desires, and needs, and that you trust your knowledge, ability, and experience. It means nurturing yourself and loving yourself unconditionally. It means asking for emotional support without apology. On a physical level, it means doing such things as eating when you’re hungry, resting when you're tired, or using the bathroom when you need to! People who practice sagacious selfishness have a zest, a verve for living, a natural joy that comes from honoring their inherent value. Healthy selfishness opens the door to a life of freedom— freedom from being ruled by the opinions and demands of others, as well as freedom from the voices in your own mind.

Julia like Sheryl hope that people are able to gather a greater awareness of who they are energetically so they can conquer many of their fears and childhood programs and find contentment and peace in following the impulses of their heart or soul essence. Julia would like people to remember after reading To Me I thee Wed to experience first-‐hand just how invigorating, empowering, and FUN it is to practice self-‐care. Julia wants you to experience first-‐hand how much your life transforms when you give yourself the same degree of commitment and unconditional love you would want from a partner.

In summarizing today’s episode of “Healing From Within,” Julia Bowlin M.D. has shared the most important ideas for finding inner peace, realizing your true human and spiritual potential, and moving past any obstacle or roadblock in order to find the song that sings in your heart: the love that resides in your inner wisdom for yourself. In doing so you many find grace and a greater awareness of physical life which guides you to remember your soul or eternal energetic presence which then helps you to realize that life is a collaboration between our mind body and spirit. With right thought, action, vision and consistency, we can love ourselves and others moving past negativity and stress, to find peace compassion joy and happiness.

As Julia wrote. Also, “interest” doesn’t have to be in another person, It could mean being interested in a subject—an area of study, a hobby, a career, or something in the world beyond yourself that you find fascinating. Such interests not only enrich your own individual life but make you more interesting to others. The ability to express and convey your passions and fascinations to others can be extremely appealing (as long as you don’t become self-‐ absorbed or lapse into jargon or off-‐putting “shop talk”). Being interested—in others, in hobbies, and in your life—makes you a more interesting person. It’s also a great way to enrich your own individual life.

Julia and I would have you know whatever challenges you have faced or will face may be the necessary ingredients to healing issues from your earliest recollections and the motivation to begin to explore possibilities of creating what feels right and good in your daily activities, what brings you comfort and joy and embrace those experiences as they lead you to people places and events that offer you opportunities to grow know yourself better and to simply know life is good….. Live in the moment not the past or future and life will be immeasurably lighter and more fun…
